Shortage of pilots because of the Vid19 jab maybe?

It's not the weather. It's whether or not.....they get vaccinated most likely

I have a friend who flys for them said it’s due to vac mandated by the company and most pilots have refused

If they blame weather or air traffic control than they do not have to technically refund any of the tickets. Essentially they are abusing a loophole.

That is at least what my air traffic controller neighbor says.

If this is true, it’s not a loophole. It’s theft or fraud!!!!!!

Poor phrasing on my end as I 100% agree.

The wind on Wednesday and Thursday in dfw caused a lot of issues with staffing flights. When a crew is stuck somewhere one day, they can't be at the next airport the next day. I am sure this played an integral part of cancelations.

Of the top 10 cities with the most cancelations, 5 of the top 10 globally are all hubs for AA. https://flightaware.com/live/cancelled/

Looks like weather would affect all of the airlines more or less equally.

Not necessarily. Take the wind Wednesday and Thursday for example at DFW. 88% of all flights at DFW are AA, and all the other carriers both domestic and international make up the other 12%. So this is going to affect AA much more significantly.

Would be more credible if they were actually refusing refunds on the canceled flights, I'd bet money that they're not.

Staff shortage is definitely plausible seeing as it's Halloween.
