Default How much money is $450,000 to you?

If you were given $450,000 tax free money how much of a life changer would that be for you?

What would/could you do with that much money?

It would be a really good nest egg. I would still have to go to work everyday, but it would allow me to have a 2nd home.

$450k would allow me to retire earlier so somewhat life hanging.

The payment to illegals whose families were separated is mind-boggling.

If commit a crime and go to prison my family doesn't get anything because we are separated...

The family of a soldier killed in combat gets $100,000 and that is permanent separation.

Pretty life changing. Not quit my job life changing but I'd definitely be able to do more things that I enjoy and I wouldn't be upset at myself for buying things that I want but don't necessarily need.

I'd give $30,000 of it to my mom.

I'd use it to buy a Hunter Biden painting and get a government contract that would pay me back 10M. Then I'd donate that to the charity of my choice.

This is the insane world we live in now. So disgusting.

On a lighter note, I would buy the land I have always wanted and been working for and shut everything down and live till I die. Been working toward that my whole life, almost made the big step and bought 160ac right when covid hit and I chickened out due to business dropping 80%. Still hurts to think about it

Wouldn’t change my retirement date. Could pay off house and be completely debt free heading in though which would be great to say the least.

Another path could be to buy a decent chunk of land to build on and hunt on. Wife probably go for that too!

Definite life changer.

I could pay off everything, build a house on our lake property and more than likely have enough left over to buy out the relatives who will inherit the other half the property I deer hunt on.

I could retire debt free with a new house and maintain a free place to hunt. Sign me up

that amount of money would allow me to go nationwide on my Pea Gravel distribution business. Seriously, though, The US Govt separated me from my children for over 14 deployments over 22 years of service, So i might get some of that money ???SMH.

What about all the kids that have been separated from family and ended up in foster homes? How much should they get? As for me I could retire now instead of waiting 4 more years. Let’s Go Brandon!!

I'd have a hard time not spending it, but I'd like to think I would invest as much as possible and pay off the rest of my debts. 450k can create a hell of a return for someone just recently starting there retirement accounts.

I will never understand liberal ideology ....give illegals half a million dollars because they were separated from their kids after breaking the law to get here.....

Yet, we have AMERICAN citizens and homeless veterans struggling.......

Complete game changer for me! At almost 30 that would pay off all my debt including house and I’d have about 250k left. In theory it would set us up for life imo.

I read an article last year saying the average person 35 ish had roughly $8k in savings. The average American is so far in debt it's ridiculous.

I like the moonpie idea, but I may go with beef jerky.

House and various debts would take 150ish. The rest, I'd buy land. I'm on a solid path as far as retirement etc goes, and flow later won't be the problem, so I'd try and take advantage of the lump sum.

I consider life changing money not having to work anymore. 450k would make a nice investment or pay the house off but wouldn’t change my life drastically by any means. I’m only 28 though and have a lot of life ahead of me
