Was going to BBQ with this great weather but went to HEB and regular, run of the mill Select brisket was $4.59 a pound. Dino ribs are $8.99 a pound. I asked the fella stocking if that price was in American dollars. Guess it’s back to my college days…monkey peckers and sardines

So I asked it before and I feel like I didnt get a straight answer. Why are packers prices so high and we always hear it's near impossible to make money on cows. Labor /govt license fees? Cow equality and inclusiveness training? Lol

Some may laugh at this but back in the 70s i remember some of the folks that had isolated pastures the farmers would find cattle cactuses with parts of it removed.

Find a local cattle rancher and buy a cow and have it processed it’s cheaper and your supporting the rancher not the grocery store prices.
