Default Recommend a lithium 36v boat battery

Guys I'm ready to jump to lithium. Now that I am researching I have found multiple brands surprisingly. Most show on FB feed due to my search history. I will never again trust FB comments on a sale ad.

What do you or your buddies run? Need 36v. I love the weight factor, all day power, and decade warranty from most.

I dabble in lithium batteries, but not for a boat. The top brand is Battle BornÖ..period. I didnít want to drop that much coin, so I went with Renogy. Iíve been very happy with my purchase. Donít know what they offer in the 36v range. I have a 100ah 12v that I use for off grid camping that I charge with solar.

I'll start by saying that some 12V Liths can be wired in series and some can't. And there are 36V single deep cycle batteries out there too.

I'll also say that some are built with better internal components than others. The BMS (battery management system) can be different as well.

Some of better ones with better components cost a little more. But I think they are worth it.

As to features, if it has Bluetooth, it's probably well built. But don't mean it's not well built if it doesn't have Bluetooth.

Also, as to recharging, most will have a BMS that will cut off charging at 32 degrees F to protect the battery. But you can still use them below 32. And down to -4F. To get around recharge in sub freeze temps, I had a battery blanket installed in mine when built. There is a company doing that for 36V now too. But can't remember the name right now. The battery blanket heats the battery up to 32F which then let's the bms charge the battery.

My Battle Born did not come with Bluetooth. But I have installed a Bluetooth 500 amp Vectron shunt in the system. And have built it all into one unit. I'll post some pics of it later. Lunch is over and It's back to work for now.

Pic of the shunt in a Polycase. The shunt is not water proof. The red folded wire is in case I want to run a second battery off it. The shunt will tell me how much energy I'm using, how much is left, and some other data on my cell phone.

I also mounted some battery cable Jack's to the outside of the battery box, to make removing it as a unit. The small black rocker switch is for the heater blanket built inside the battery's case for recharging when the temps are below 32F. It's not hooked up. But the wire to hook it up is in the battery box with the battery. Very simple to do. The blanket runs off the battery, or charger, when it's being charged till the battery reaches 32F.

The little red wire coming through the box lid is the power wire for the shunt. Shunts come in different amperage. This is the smallest of the Vectron shunts at 500 amps (max handling capacity).Name: 20210821_181718.jpg

Good luck. Lithium batteries tend to be ďfinicky ď. I would opt for 3 -12 volt lithium batteries in the event one goes down,I could replace with a lead acid and continue.

Look closely at the Lifepo4 batteries. I have one for my trolling motor, my SIL runs one on his and his friend also has one on his trolling motor. No problems with any of them. Special chargers are included.
