My fantasy league took a hit. The dirt "ringers" didn't ring too loud. Larson put on a clinic until he wrecked. If he could have started up from the front, he would have shown em how its done. It was way more exciting than the F1 race this weekend (or any weekend).

To me it was just another gimmick to get people to tune in. I listened to a sports reporter talking about the dirt last week. And, how it was a special type of dirt, some type of specialist was brought in to make sure it would work, and many other things that had to take place that ordinary common folk like many of us would never imagine had to take place so it would work. Good grief

I thought the race was pretty good. They kind of got robbed with the weather, that prevented them from doing a true dirt format… Heat races, last chance qualifiers, etc. Dirt racing is a lot more fun that way. But they did the best they could with what they had, and it was a good race. Some people just like to complain, whether they know what they are looking at or not.

It was fun to watch. I think instead of going to all the trouble bringing the dirt into Bristol, they should have run em at Eldora on a true dirt track.

Eldora doesn’t seat nearly enough fans for a cup race. Plus, moving a race there would take away a date from an existing track, which they are not going to do right now.

The dirt specialist is probably a guy in overalls with a JohnDeer hat on. Those guys that race on dirt know what they are doing to make a good track.

Yeah, I know. But it would be cool though.

Haven't paid much attention to Nascar since back in the 70's. Went to my one and only event in Bryan, Tx and couldn't see very much of the action due to the size of the track. But playin in the dirt with 'em might be fun to watch. I'll look for it.

Next year I hope they let them modify them more to be more competitive on dirt. For sure ditch the windshield and cut out the fender wells so they can run real dirt tires. I would even be for them building a super late model or sprint car to match their car to race.

NASCAR said they want to keep it as close to the old days as possible. Back in the day, they ran the same cars they did everywhere else. And they had windshields.

I would love to see a new IROC series. Race a cup car, Indy car, super late model, sprint car, and modified. See who is the best drivers in the country.

Throw in a midget race for good measure.

They are vertically challenged, sir. And they need to stay on the “short” track for safety.

Tony Stewart has that series coming out this summer, races will be on CBS. Rumor is nascar wasn't too happy about him creating it as competition for Nascar and that one of the reasons they took the truck race date away from Eldora, a track he owns and moved it to Knoxville.
