What do you guys typically use your syrup on? After all that work I think I’d have a hard time watching my kids bath their pancakes in it, that stuff deserves some chicken and waffles.

It is just me and my wife. Two pints will go a long way. Next year I am going to try to get enough sap for a gallon.

I ate some of the pectin this morning on some toasted bagels. The syrup from the bottom of the pan that had almost turned to candy. It is the consistency of jelly. It was really good stuff.

I know it’s a long time from now but if you’d be willing to part with a pint next year, I’d love to try it. Happy to pay for it and shipping. Don’t know if you’re into spicy but I can some jalapeño and habanero relish and dehydrate some and make shake out of it. Happy to trade too. Just never heard of black walnut syrup and would like to try the real thing. Very cool that you’re doing that.

It's a lot of work. We did sugar maples as kids. We cooked it down on a wood stove in the garage. But the reward is sweet!
