As a Horn I never thought it was a mistake. I actually respected the aggys for once for taking a chance and going out on their own. I am sure some said it was a mistake but they were wrong. I am excited about the move for many reasons.

See my early post. Mega stand alone conference free from the NCAA with all the blue blood schools is where we are headed. Get on board or get run over

What some of us actually said was that they would be a middle of the pack team just the same as in the Big 12. We haven't been proven wrong so far 10 years in.

I questioned how well A&M could compete in the SEC at the time of the move. I believe they are about the same as they were in the SWC, Big 12, and now SEC (conference records show it). They are competing, just not for championships yet.

I think what has happened is they have reaffirmed a commitment to athletics and pouring the money into it. Most Aggies I know are very happy with their current state of the program in football and very excited about their baseball hire. Basketball hire isn't looking great, but it's early. As long as they will continue to invest the dollars, it will continue to grow.

Some talking head this morning was saying this. Will be modeled very similar to NFL with 32 teams and 4 divisions.

That will be nice. Hopefully the athletes can get some nice compensation for the time/risk/hard work they have to put In to be top athletes.

Why not? The NFL isn't comprised of 32 competitive teams.

Yes it is. They are all competitive. Much more parity in the NFL. No 77-0 games.

Yes, but in today's world nothing can be hidden for long. If the other parties are economically affected and they will be they have the resources to provide the material needed and the facts will be presented.

It’s going to happen. And, while the door is cracked open other schools may be sliding there resumes into the sliver of daylight. $$$ and survival creates strange bedfellows. No self proclaimed big dog wants to be left behind.

There will be lawyers, lol. Billable hours are undefeated. This has been going on for months.

It really doesnít make a **** to me. The conference has reached out to Texas numerous times throughout their history. Itís written in black and white within article posted on this thread from years ago. Itís nothing new.

Maybe the SEC won't give a crap about hand gestures like the Big 12 did. Bring back "horns down" and the annual Thanksgiving game. Should be fun!

What I've never understood, is with allllll of this money out there to be made on 18-25 year olds playing amateur football........why hasn't the NFL jumped in and taken this all over?

They've piddled around and bankrupted a handfull of different leagues made up of has beens, and never weres. Why havn't they just started a minor league team for each franchise, pay them decently, and hold a draft for anyone out of high school who wants to be elligible? They'd effectively end high level CFB.

Because it wouldn't work. College football is the second most popular sport and has the most rabid fanbase. Minor league football would be or have neither.

Nothing new. To be fair the contacts I was referring to donít sit on the board or anything. They are just big donor Alumni with ties within the program that hate Texas as much as everyone else. I still have no idea how this was not leaked a long time ago, with it being in the works for so long.

Myself and them were referring to the Gentleman Agreement, conference looking out for each other, not allowing another in state rival in, etc. We were all naive to believe anything mattered more then money at the end of the day.

Iíve lost all interest in Pro Sports, I sure hope College Football doesnít follow their path.

Had they stayed in the Big 12 in 2012 I really think they would have won the Conference with Manziel and would have been in the National championship game that year.

This is the type of move that, if not careful, will kill college football. This is the first of many moves that get us going in that direction. All because of greed. Everyone will look back on this one day and regret these types of decisions imo.

No the Blue bloods with get together and leave Vandy behind just like Tech, TCU and Baylor have been. I'd be interested if anyone has put together a list of those 32.

No one is "kicked" out, its a new entity in which the 32 chosen ones are invited.

I'm ready for Tech to go somewhere else. I hope it's pac12 to keep the revenue up. I will miss playing UT. I'm a realist and I believe given apples to apples Tech should never beat UT especially in football. The times we did are something to brag on and hang your hat on. David vs Goliath. I do have to say UT needs to go asap because the tech kids are going to throw car batteries at Chris Beard
