Default Who sprays their own house for bugs.

Well I am sad to say that our bug guy passed away about a month ago. So now it's time to hire a new pro or start to do it myself. Normally I spray Bifen around the outside and in the bushes for mosquitos. Then I use Home Defense in the garage. I am not sure what I would use in the house. We don't have any small children but we do have two cats. We are just north of San Antonio and the bugs we do see maybe once every couple months are scorpions, red head centipede and the smaller brown banded cockroach.

Thanks for the advice I need to start or hire someone new soon

I use Bifenthrin, Imidacloprid, Permethrin, and Orange Oil around the house and dog kennels.

I spray around the doors and windows real good and Never sprayed anything inside the house.

I've had good luck just using Ortho Home Defense. On a quarterly basis I spray along the baseboards all around the inside of the house and all around the foundation on the outside. Not sure that it will help with scorpions however.

Last year was terrible. This year I have hired a company to take care of it. Dogs have not been scratching and find dead bugs inside all the time...............

I use Suspend SC to spray on and outside the house perimeter 2-3 times per year. I just applied Bifen L/P for army worms on my lawn. It kills other insect as well but noticed lots of dead grasshoppers since applying.

I used a Pest Control service for a couple of years. The invoice listed all of the pesticides they applied. I bought my own and have been doing it my self for the last 15+ years. I apply more spray for less than 1/2 the cost.

This ^^.

You can use Bifen the same way. On the inside, spray along the baseboards, in the window tracks, corners, door frames.

I use a mix of Bifethrin and Demon WP inside the house, and tried Onslaught for the first time about a week ago, we'll see how it does..

Demon WP and Suspend SC quarterly. I mix them in the same sprayer. I have used this outside only for years with great success.

Suspend Polyzone inside and outside. The Polyzone has a long residual especially for spiders and scorpions. Kill everything else to

Demon, inside and out. I'll have to give the permethrin a try.

I'll say this about bugs, I think the winter storm in February did me a favor. Especially when it comes to scorpions. I killed 15 of those bastages in one night last summer and no matter how much Demon I used I couldn't get rid of them.

This summer has been much better. I'm still killing them, but not near like I was last year.

How do you get rid of sugar ant colonies? I think the colony under us stretches for miles in every direction.

Same here. No problems.

As soon as I tell the bug sales guys that come to the door that I use Demon they leave without any more questions.

We used to try this method, but now we hire the pros.

It's kind of funny how well we get to know our pest control guys at our places.

The one in Florida is one of my clients and will run over and re-treat if we see a single ant.

The one in Texas will absolutely soak the exterior, powder the attic access, and puts down new glue boards.

as a DIY guy, I hated giving it up, but honestly....they know what they are doing.

It's a CWI item for me.

I use Demon on the outside, on a rock or brick house make sure to spray into the "weep" holes that should be every few feet depending how many they used. Also hit the window sills, you would be amazed how a scorpion can slip through a sealed window.
I sprayed Permethrin around the inside baseboard 2.5 yrs ago and have not done it again. Any spiders/bugs inside are dead or pretty sluggish by the time they make it out where I can see them.

Same here but Iíll use Tempo one time then rotate to another similar product the next. Spray 2-3 times a year.

I use reverse osmosis (drinking) water to mix it so you donít see water spots indoors.
