We receive maximum kinetic potential when the inertia is greater the X- jouels and the projectile is somewhat uniform...... But we always see that the penetration of, said projectile, is derived from KE. Momentum has nothing to do with it!!!

I want to know how people seem to always manage to happen to have their phone on when things like this happen. I would have to scramble to go find my phone, which would be the last thing I would be thinking.

I would assume something happened, that let them know something was about to happen.

Then one decent sized rock took out that whole bridge, I know I would not trust bridges around there, if that's all it takes to completely wipe one out.
