Putting a flatbed on a 1/2 ton ?

Any advice on a flatbed for my HD 1/2 ton ( Chevy heavy 1/2 )
Just tired of climbing to get anything from the bed or tool box, I am using my walking cane as a hook to scoot stuff to the back !

I put one on a heavy 1/2 Ford back in the mid 90’s. Weight of the bed dang near killed all the load carrying capacity.

If you design the bed properly then it should be fine. Be sure you think about under bed tool boxes and other accessories.

I put one on my Toyota Tacoma ranch truck. It handles it well, I'd think a 1/2ton would be fine.

No wood. Wood sucks. All metal.

I would definitely not want any wood on it have to replace at some point. There are aluminum beds out there as well. I’ve seen them on tundras and Tacoma’s.

My cousin had a flat bed on a taco that was awesome. It had stake holders on the sides as well

Yep, maybe, it’s a 5/8 ton truck airbags would be nice
