No doubt, on brand.

ďIf Texas A&M is really that mad, Iím sure the folks in charge know that the SEC has no exit fee and no grant of rights.

I think thats the idea, basically the 4 conferences of 16, they become a division above Divison I and pull away from the NCAA, its true minor league football. It also forces ND to join one.

A&M better be careful. It only takes 2/3 vote to kick them out of the conference. Thatís less schools than it takes to be voted in!

If the Board of Regents didn't meet immediately to address a significant change to the conference like this I would hope they would all be fired. They have been in the loop on this, that has been reported from multiple sources. The only people shocked by this are fan's who were caught off guard by the "leak."

SEC has been talking about going to a pod type system for a while, but needed expansion to make it work. Seems like 4 pods of 4 teams. Exact make up of the pods is yet to be determined. My guess is choice of who went into A&M's pod was part of getting the Aggies to buy into the deal.

POD #1:
Mizzou
A&M
LSU
tu

POD #2:
OU
Arky
Ole Miss
Miss St

POD #3:
Bama
Auburn
Tenn
Kentucky

POD #4:
Florida
SCar
Vandy
Georgia

You play everyone in your pod each year and rotate through the other pods so you play every SEC school 1 of 3 years. If they go to a 9 game SEC schedule then add in a permanent "rivalry" game from one of the other pods. When you play that teams pod in the rotation you would pick up a game from one of the other pods in it's place.

I think the 9 game schedule with the permanent rival makes the most sense as it makes the SEC the most money.

The comments from Tom Herman last year make a lot more sense now. Everyone was kind of caught off guard by that at the time, but my guess is that's when the initial inquiry was going to the SEC.
https://www.saturdaydownsouth.com/ta...-rivalry-2020/
Herman was not in on anything that Texas wanted to keep secret.

I would also be surprised if Texas and OU were in different pods.

I thought it was just McMurphy that reported that all the schools were in the loop. Did you see it somewhere else.

Everybody in the SEC will be fine. The super conference of the land

The losers of all this are the 8 remaining big 12 teams that just got ****ed and left in the cold. That’s the real story here, I feel sorry for those fans and alumni

For what itís worth, Finebaum yesterday evening on his show said he would stake it on his reputation that it would be impossible that at least the Presidents of all the schools knew about it.

A&M, Tech, Baylor, OK state and the rest of big 12 plus Notre Dame to BIG 10. That would be an intersting match for SEC...

Finebaum reported it, he held back some but I think he's correct, it's also been reported by local media.

Do I think A&M leadership was happy about it, no. Do I think they went along without arguing, no. I also think there are several Regents who may have been brought in late in the game and are still upset by it.

But I don't think the SEC would make a change like this without brining all the schools in on it especially A&M in this instance. That's just not how you run a strong organization.

This is what I was thinking... The SEC wouldn't "have an affair" with A&M's sister!

But it wouldn't look so bad for Texas if A&M didn't know about it. Instead of A&M allowing them/approving them coming into the conference.. Would reduce the negative look on Texas' part with the whole "we don't need the SEC, we have LHN." To "Hey can we come to y'alls party, it looks fun."

I'm with Staples on this one. Instead of worrying about pulling off a secret behind the scenes deal and embarrassing A&M, Texas needs to be worried about how a second year coach is going to do in a new conference.

Can Sark sustain a 5-6 loss season this year and next and still be a viable Longhorn coach?

I donít think embarrassing A&M was ever part of the plan. The petty bs is not on the table when you are talking deals of this magnitude.

The pressure to win is always at Texas, but itís probably cranked up a few notches. Hopefully Sark is the dude.

Exactly. Not one comment in here about adding power house OU. Ags and SEC are not afraid of competition. OU would be a great fit. No one wants Texas.

Sips are like every Californian moving to TX. We ****ed up our own conference so bad letís move to a new conference... and once we get there, we will do everything in our power to change it to how we want it to be. That school in Austin represents everything that is wrong in this country.

All the beautiful college towns in the SE we get to visit and tailgate, letís add the most liberal school and City in the South. We can step over Hobo Hippies everywhere with students running around swinging dildos. Not a good fit in the SEC

I get it, but let’s just call it what it really is. Aggies know if this goes down, they will once again be in Texas’s shadow.

You might want to go back and look at the last 5 years recruiting rankings. If the SEC is as great as y'all say it is you ain't gonna like those rankings in the future.

Default College Football Summer Ramp Up...

Iím sure all of the league ďpresidentsĒ were in on the discussions, but he obviously left people in the dark that felt more important than they are so it was leaked before the declarations were submitted on Monday.

Texas Pres.Jay Hartzell and Board of Regents chair Kevin Eltiife are leading this move.

That's the attitude that drove 4 schools from the Big 12 and the attitude that destroyed the Big 12 ultimately.

Good luck in the SEC.

Default College Football Summer Ramp Up...

https://rubbingtherock.com/2021/07/2...rious-contact/

Clemson football fans have been anxiously awaiting to see what might be in store for the Tigers in the near future following the massive conference realignment rumors that are taking place across the landscape of College Football.

Everything all started with reports that Texas and Oklahoma were considering leaving the Big 12 for the SEC. In less than 24 hours, those reports have become all but confirmations and the expectation at this point is that the Longhorns and Sooners will be giving their notice to the Big 12 next week and filing the application to join the SEC, as well.

With the additions of Texas and Oklahoma, the SEC will be up to 16 teams but one report says the conference doesnít want to stop there.

Barstool Sportsí Jack McGuire reports that the SEC has been in Ďserious contactí with Clemson, Ohio State, Michigan and Florida State about leaving their respective conferences to join the league. The ultimate goal? To have a true 20-team mega conference.

I get it, but let’s just call it what it really is. Aggies know if this goes down, they will once again be in Texas’s shadow.
Ags will not be in Horns shadows for many years in football with Jimbo. Horns will be the little brother that followed us. I’m seriously not worried about football one bit. Yea recruiting will change some but you guys can’t win with 5 stars against Big 12 schools with good coaches and 2 star players.
Good article that came out last month why Horns will continue to suck until they make big changes at the top. Look what Mac Brown has accomplished with way less resources away from that dumpster fire.

In Basketball, yes 100% horns will dominate.
