I don’t mind Texas and OU joining, it’ll make for some hyped up good seasons. What I don’t want is to lose the LSU game every year (it was becoming a better game now sumlin is gone).

OU
Tx
AM
LSU

That would be a pod I’d like from a fans perspective.

I hope Texas/OU remains in Dallas, Texas/A&M is home and home and not Thanksgiving.

The SEC plays the egg on Thanksgiving

If you talked to countless sips face to face that said the Big 12 conference was better than the SEC, you need to find better friends.

Most guys on here have said, the Big 12 is better than given credit for. The SEC is top heavy and the middle teams are typically get over hyped because they play in the SEC. A&M and Mizzou going into the SEC able to compete right away with out getting their doors blow off prove that.

I am not saying that is correct, just the thought of the Texas fans I know and on here unless Bob has a few evening cocktails.

Donít see that happening as LSU is one of the longest standing teams in Sec, and has far more deeper ties to many other schools. Although i to
would like to keep the Aggie game, but would like to move it up in the year to amplify the importance more. This whole thing means we probably lose a true rival in fla/bama

I hear ya, Heath. Personally, Iím all for it. ATM, Texas, LSU, Arkansas, etc. back in the same conference just like back in the SWC days. Itís all about the $$, and this move will make plenty for everyone.

It will never get to that. All the remaining Big 12 schools will also break the agreement. Nobody pays anything and nobody gets anything. The left behinds are all scrambling to find conferences. Wouldn't be suprised if within the next few weeks to a month we hear of landing spots for a handful of them.

They won't get off for free. But, I doubt they pay $75 million each either.

If Baylor, TCU, Tech, OSU, etc can't find P5 conference partners they will dig in their heels and grab some money.

If everyone does find a landing spot, where do you think that is?
My wild azz guess
Kansas and Ok. State to BIG
Tech and WV to ACC
Iowa St and K State to PAC
Not sure what happens to TCU and Baylor

Finbaum just said he has inside info Kansas to the Big 10 will absolutely not happen, its looking more and more like many of the eight left are going to have a hard time finding landing spots in the PAC, ACC or Big 10. He said he actually thinks Cincinnatti is in a good spot to get picked up by the ACC if there is a rush to 16 by those other conferences which surprised me too. He doesn't thing Tech, OSU, Baylor, TCU, or KSU will finds spots, said KU and WVU better hope ACC want to add them and ND wants to stay independant.

So yes long story short it looks like they will likely dig their heels in for the penalty cash.

Kansas to the B1G is the most likely thing to happen. The ACC would take them, but they won't want to go.

Iowa State is either B1G or G5. If they do get in to the B1G, Matt Campbell should get a lifetime contract.
OSU - Pac 12 or G5
Tech - Pac 12 or G5
KSU - G5
TCU - G5
Baylor - G5
WVU - ACC seems reasonable, but not a lock.

There is a significant chance that they don't find homes.

Most of those won't happen. Big 10 has academic standards before they let a university join, OSU not gonna cut it, Kansas barely makes their grade, ISU makes the grade by a good margin but Iowa will resist much like A&M is resisting letting UT in. WVU to the ACC is the only one that might happen.

Actually Kansas to the Big 10 is less likely than to the ACC, the rest of what you listed is spot on.

Let's be honest. In the new west only LSU is a major upgrade in competition from the Big 12. How often will they play Alabama, Florida and Georgia? The rest of the east doesn't scare anyone.

Well you already got 7 division games. Is the SEC keeping the brilliant 8 conference games and 4 cream puffs model?

Or only 1 non conference and play half the other division?

I think non conference games go away, look at the 4 pod model mentioned earlier, you guaranteed to play everyone in the conference at least once every 4 years on a rotating basis.

They could go north and south divisions OU would love that. I guess they could put Georgia in the north instead of SC though.

Default College Football Summer Ramp Up...

Gonna be a wild ride, that much is certain! I sure never thought weíd be here right nowÖ

I apologize to those gents who I harassed directly earlier, not a good look with some blood pressures already in the red. Weird times, and you have my apologies.

Iíll use more tact, if youíll use a narrower paint brush, how bout thatÖ

Should be pretty fun moving forward, especially Texas and ouís road games in conference the next year or twoÖ

I don't think that's going to happen.
SEC has been talking about going to a pod type system for a while, but needed expansion to make it work. Seems like 4 pods of 4 teams. Exact make up of the pods is yet to be determined. My guess is choice of who went into A&M's pod was part of getting the Aggies to buy into the deal.

POD #1:
Mizzou
A&M
LSU
tu

POD #2:
OU
Arky
Ole Miss
Miss St

POD #3:
Bama
Auburn
Tenn
Kentucky

POD #4:
Florida
SCar
Vandy
Georgia

You play everyone in your pod each year and rotate through the other pods so you play every SEC school 1 of 3 years. If they go to a 9 game SEC schedule then add in a permanent "rivalry" game from one of the other pods. When you play that teams pod in the rotation you would pick up a game from one of the other pods in it's place.

I think the 9 game schedule with the permanent rival makes the most sense as it makes the SEC the most money.

The comments from Tom Herman last year make a lot more sense now. Everyone was kind of caught off guard by that at the time, but my guess is that's when the initial inquiry was going to the SEC.
