Fishing Reel cleaning

I cleaned them for a few years back in high school. They’re not hard - just lay the parts out in the order you took them off and it will make the job much easier.
Be careful taking any c-clips off as they’ll try to shoot across the room if you’re not careful. Use WD-40 to clean all the old grease off, CLR to remove any corrosion, soak and shake bearings in rubbing alcohol, use a quality grease on all gears, use a quality oil on all bearings.

Just a FYI for anyone in DFW, or beyond:
Big John's Rod Repair
817-597-8273 or
jpen1951@gmail.com
Does reel cleaning too.
The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

Bumping this up.
Dad died a few weeks ago we're going through the house.
I ended up with my Grandpa's baitcaster and metal fishing rod. I know its over 40 years old. Maybe even older than that...
I also got Dad's Rods reels.and tackle boxes.
Some of the rods the string on the eyes is coming loose.
I'd like them looked at.
I'm in the Tyler/Canton area
