Did a little better today. Had 10.35. Finished 21at out of 90. Not what we wanted but oh well. We drove up Wednesday thinking fish would be where we left them and they werenít! Head to Whitney next month for the first time, then Sandlin, lake DíArbonne for Crappie Masters National Championship. Then Red River for Crappie Expo. Maybe Millwood in mid November then maybe I will go hunting!!

Had a blast on Ray Roberts fishing yesterday! This was our second tournament (ever!) for me and my partner. We finished 5th in division 2 with 9.96 lbs against 30+ teams. Would have been 4th in division 1 (that's how good d2 is!). Lake was 4 feet high and caught all fish on the same 1/16th hair jig today tipped with minnows. Timber bite stunk and our biggest fish of 1.77 came off the bridge (back to basics!) And the rest off of brush piles in 18 fow. Even came home with a check! Now accepting applications for sponsorships!

First time back to LOP in a month or 2 and she didnít disappoint. They left with a cooler full of slabs and several close to 2 pounds! Pitching jigs tipped with minnows to fish in the timber was the ticket. They wanted it moving.

Fork was a grind the last 2 days but they still left with a good mess of fish. Straight minnows and 1/8oz jigs tipped with minnows worked best. Off to chase ocean perch for a couple days. Crappie get a break.

I got lucky and fished 3 lakes in 7 days! Caught fish at all 3 but need some practice on Navarro mills - lots of potential there and very few boats.

Good luck on those ocean perch slew! They fry up pretty good too....

I had about 90 minutes to fish today and didnít really want to get the boat out so just planned to fish the marina. They were out of minnows so I just went with the black and yellow beetle spin without the spinnner on. First drop it got inhaled before I could even take up the slack. Got two quick then missed 3 more talking to friends on the dock (also managing my cold beer). Minnow truck rolled up so I went in and got a two dozen. It was a fish in every drop for about 20 minutes and then Just turned off. Oh well, I got enough for dinner. Culled a few out and kept 7 solid keepers.

Sorry to hear about your tough time there. Water has not been exactly stable there for a while, with it just coming off a flood. And been releasing water for almost 2 months now. In my experience, that lake does the best in the winter and early spring for slabs.

We fished Toledo bend this afternoon with a guide. Not very good results. Less than 20 between 5 of us. We were fishing with minnows and jigs on natural structure 15-18ft deep.

Going out on our own tomorrow. Hopefully we can do alright.

Tried to keep up with the Facebook weigh in. Sounds like sander and holleman are on fire!

Wish I could have fished Whitney today but looks like it was a small fish grind. Congrats slew on a tough lake!

They’re on a roll! They won it on our backup spot! Oh well. We fished through our best stuff and they were in those trees when we went to go in there and never left! We caught a lot of fish today but they were sorry fish! Been 3 weeks since I crappie fished nearly so it was good to get back after em! Bob Sandlin to end up the season next month. We need to win that one. Caught all our fish on hand ties I made in a Shad color and silver and yellow slab syndicate hand ties and Jenko 11’ Kevin Rogers series rods. 10-12’ of water fishing 7-10’ down.

I got a good laugh today! Guy there said Whitney and RC are his lakes. RC is his big fish lake! I told him I might would take up golf if RC was my big fish lake!

I had a couple of TBHers Andy and Keith out with me this morning and the fishing is still a grind.
We found lots of fish but one or two was all we could get to bite at each pile.
We stayed on the move and they ended the morning with a nice box of fish.
We caught everything on minnows in 18 to 24 foot of water

Posting for Slew!

I'm betting his record on the white will be safe for a long time! I think that black crappie record looks ripe for breaking next for little man!

Mounts turned out very nice.
