    Homemade Cellular Hog Trap

I’ve been following the hog trap posts so I figured I would post my own. My trap is 8 cattle panels with a guillotine style aluminium door. It is remote triggered with a gate relay and a gear box type contraption. Here is a pic before I got the remote trigger on it. I’m using an Arlo cellular security camera for monitoring the trap. I’m liking the setup so far. I would say the entrance could be a little bigger but I haven’t had any problems so far

Next time I catch a lot, if you want a few you are more than welcome to them. I trap them up in the Sherman/Pottsboro area

How thick is your aluminum door? I'd be worried about them tearing it up

It's solid. I would say 1/4 inch one of my dads buddies made it up. Haven't had issues yet. I read that hogs will not run into anything they can't see through. Not sure if there is any truth to that but I've seen guys use wood doors for traps

Baby porker I caught by hand a few weeks back. Not sure where mama was. Thing was covered up in what I guess were mites

Whole lot of pork in one of my food plots tonight. Hopefully they make it over to the trap

Those babies are always covered in ticks/fleas/mites especially around their eyes. I fill a 5 gal. bucket of water and put in some flea soap for dogs and then just dunk em in their upside down a few times and rinse off and they are good sellers! You can train em' like puppies very fast and they are indestructible unlike dogs they will bail off a 3' ledge and never blink.

                          Nice work!!

I looked into making some cellular trap gates a few years ago. Parts are a whole lot cheaper than ya'd think. And certainly a lot cheaper than what they sell for.
