So I’ll admit I am all about chasing that big buck! My wife will tell you I’m obsessed at times and she may be right. Well, 2 weekends ago I had the opportunity to back up a bit and see it all through my 10 year old daughter Kaylen’s eyes. She loves going to the deer lease with us but she hasn’t ever been with us when we shot a deer. She has Down syndrome and while I hope one day to let her pull the trigger it’s not quite time for that yet, so her just being with us is what’s important right now. We were actually chasing a nice 8 for son but since he didn’t show for us and this cull did we decided to take him for ‘sister’, hence Kaylen’s Buck. My son pulled the trigger and made the perfect shot. Pics and videos don’t do it justice but will give you a glimpse of our weekend and her excitement. It made me stop and remember that it’s not always the size of the buck that matters, but more importantly it’s the size of the excitement that the buck creates that does......
