Default Norm McDonald died...

His brand of humor was not everyone's cup of tea but being a bit of an acerbic smartass myself, I found him to be really funny. Some of his Weekend Update bits were legendary. Apparently he had been battling cancer for a good while. He was 61.

Sad to hear. He was legendary on SNL doing the Weekend Update and his Burt Reynolds was something of genius. See you on the other side **** Ferguson.

I always liked him, the wife and I saw him in Austin at the Cap City comedy club a couple of years ago and that was the worst show I have ever seen. He was actually booed and heckled towards the end because there was nothing funny in that entire show. RIP Norm

LOL, he would do that from time to time just to screw with the crowd to see what he could get away with, I believe he did that on Letterman once. He was a weird dude.

I was bummed to hear this yesterday. I spent a good while watching videos and reading on him. Like others said, he was an interesting dude. Die hard dedication to his performance - never breaking character, even while bombing. Further, would intentionally bomb occasionally for the heck of it. I stumbled upon a Daily Show interview with Jon Stewart where he joked about Steve Irwins death... two days after it happened. "It was tragic... at the time." I've got a bit of a twisted sense of humor so his brand of comedy was particularly funny to me.

He was highly regarded as one of the best by his peers. Most by comedians that had far greater success than he did.
Since he passed in the afternoon most of the good stories about him will be blogged about today.

Website allthingscomedy.com hosts a bunch of comics podcasts.
I imagine they will all be talking about him today in their shows.
