    Sipping Tequila

So, I’m usually a bourbon, scotch, Irish whiskey guy...recently I’ve become more interested in sipping tequila. So far, I like Codigo and Don Julio. I’ve found I like repasados and blanco over the anajo so far. Any recommendations?

Anejo is as close to scotch/whiskey as it gets in the tequila world and is my preference to sip. That said, try Herradura and Tres Generaciones of your flavor, both of which are somewhat reasonably priced.

For special occasions we keep Don Julio 1942 on the top shelf of the pantry.

    Good luck!

Codigo the Origen is my current go to

Asombroso The Collabration is about the smoothest anejo I’ve ever tasted but it isn’t cheap

Tequila is my sipping drink of choice from now till November. Don Julio .... any. Usually anejo but blanco sipped is great with ice. Azul is another great one but hard to find.

$&@# patron and that George straight trash

Ron White has one called “number Juan” and it’s great as well

One tip with tequila (or any). Sounds stupid.. but drink what you like! If you like repasado... drink that! No need to drink a lot of oak if that’s not what you enjoy and can’t appreciate or like the other. Same with bourbon. There are people with $8k in juice that they can’t tell from Evan Williams

Definitely agree with this. Another that is solid and pretty inexpensive is Dos Lunas.

Abandonado. I can only find it at specs. Several price points to jump in.

I don't drink much, but Corzo is excellent tequila.
Herradura is also good as far as the big names go.

If you want to try something interesting pick up a sotol (instead of agave).
                            Hacienda de Chihuahua is good.

Anejo Tequila is my preferred drink. I've spent a lot of money on Anejos from $30-$300. My absolute favorite is 1800 Anejo and it's not even close. It's smooth, oak finish is fantastic. Give me Anejo tequila over Scotch any day of the week.
