Trad First Shot Challenge Week 22 2022

Draw or print a tree’d squirrel in a vertical position.
Place your aim point in an appropriate location.
Place the target squirrel in an elevated position…above your head.
Shoot and measure edge of shaft to center of aim point.
Only hits on the squirrel count for measure.
Shoot first shot of the day, up to 3 days shots.
Shooter with lowest single day shot measure wins.
Adults shoot from 12 yards and kids shoot from 6 yards.

Happy Memorial Day. God bless those who have gave their lives to keep us all free from tyranny.

Beaware technocratic and communistic characters are long in infiltrating and undermining our democratic republic bureaucracy to instill their tyrannical ideologies. The media Marxist culture war will not stop their cultural revolution towards tyranny in the facade of social justice. We must remember, educate others and fight as those who have come before otherwise we disrespect the fallen’s sacrifices and we all lose our freedom.

Good skilling and God bless Yall.

    Day 1: miss
Yesterday I bareshaft tuned, increased point weight from 145 to 175, trimmed feathers and shot a lot to instill sight elevation muscle memory. My already parabolic arrow flight got a bit more parabolic from my 38#@28” longbow. Elevating the target dubiously calls for a bit more sighting elevation than anticipated.

I've not participated in many of these. That is to say, I've not bothered to send in my "score" pics! But, I have no place where I can safely shoot at a target which is elevated above my head. A miss, for any reason, puts the neighbors at risk.

        Maybe next time.
        Happy Memorial Day anyhow.

Shot kneeling, so target was above head. Best I could do with setup.

Day 2 and Day 3: misses
Consistently low. Almost same darn spots below target. Im collapsing and aiming too low on my inclined shots. This has been a good lesson for me.

You have to lean back at the waist and maintain a good T form. If not you'll likely miss when you raise your bow arm and you back arm/elbow aren't in alignment.

I have been laying off waiting on my new limbs,
but I just couldn't resist this one. Broke his neck.

Grandson was off paper, but that shot was pretty good considering he hasn't shot in several months.

                          Thanks Ellis.

I was hanging it higher, but Spencer was yelling:
" To high, To High, TO HIGH !!! "
