What gun for nilgai?

I have been Invited on a Nilgai hunt from a vendor of mine. I only own one deer rifle being I am a bowhunter... but, this is a gun hunt. I can borrow from my dad if need be, but not sure there is a need. I have a 6.5-284 norma. Is that enough gun? Fast enough for sure, but do I need more lead? Thoughts?

I think the king ranch requires at least .30 if I remember correctly if that is helpful. I would bring a 300wm personally.

Yup. I would borrow one at least .30. Most places require a .30 Magnum. 6.5x284 with a premium bullet will kill them dead, but may not be allowed. I wouldn't hesitate to shoot one with a .257 Magnum (if nobody was looking). :-)

The 6.5 is plenty of gun and bullet.
If there's some cartridge minimum on the ranch it's wise to heed that.

Killed mine with a 270. 150 grain. I wouldn’t second guess a 6.5-284 with a 140 berger

Well, I saw a post the other day somewhere where a kid killed one wit ha 300 Black out and it is even a 30 caliber. I think your 6.5 would be plenty, but people like to overthink this type stuff so you might need a 378 weatherby
