I didn’t think there es much suspense in the Colorado draw for deer or elk. If you have enough points-‘isn’t a tag a given? Am I missing something ?

Lots of people have the same number of points, so not everyone at that point level will get a tag. Look up point creep.

Not so much with elk, but with bison, sheep, and goats, there are guys who have had max points for years, but unable to draw because so many other people have max points too, and the unit only allocates a few tags each year.

CO (Sheep, Moose and goat) are a random draw once you have 3 PP.
you weighted points just means how many times your name is in the draw. You can draw any three with just 3 PP

I've heard they draw in a certain order (Moose, Deer/Elk, Pronghorn, Bear) so maybe you are deer hunting this year?!?

Thanks for the info! I’m most familiar with New Mexico.

I have a few PP in Colorado- but plan on using in easy to draw units for deer and elk, someday.

I put in for an LE elk tag and a LE deer tag-- neither of those have hit on the card or the CPW website yet.

From what I can tell theyve drawn Moose, Pronghorn and Bear so far, fingers crossed for the rest!

I still show "entered" for deer and elk. I'm assuming they still have not drawn for those two? If they had I would either have drawn or have pp, right?

I think those are the two remaining species. It took about 6hrs from my CC hit to when they took my bear point.
