Default First woods

Got sick of making the excuse that it wasn't worth traveling to any TBoT shoots to shoot two open rounds. Can't shoot wood rounds because I don't have them.
Finally sucked it up and had some nice wood arrows built by Ron French. They turned out pretty nice.
The yellows fades are for my current Primal Tech and the greens for the new one in the works.Name: D1B88239-.jpg

I may not win any 3D shoots with them but between them and my sweet looking and shooting Primal Tech I'll at least look good losing!

You know, as long as the shots aren't over 15 yards.Name: 20220414_095245.jpg

Yeah that was one of six groups. Most of them I'd have two in the 10/12 rings and one out in the 8. They are a little less forgiving of a fudged release. But that's good because it can help me work on that.

That bow is gorgeous!

I'm noticing the same thing when I shoot woods. They will tell on me quick if I mess up my release.

Randy doesn't build ugly bows but I'm pretty sure mine is as beautiful as they come. He's a craftsman, an artist and a gentleman.

Dang it Gary! I already was thinking the same thing, and now you go posting crap like this?!?!

Just don't tell my wife I'm scheming on a nice set of woodies. She hates it when I tinker with tune or form cause apparently she hears all about it till things are fixed.

Your shooting shows that attention to detail. Nothing wrong with that.

I was very surprised his prices are competitive with 3Rivers.
I'd use him again.

Well, I done did it. Talked to Mike Heisler and he's gonna make me a batch of wood arrows for my recurve. Guess I'd gonna have to show up to more shoots in the future.

Even shooting carbons, I considered myself fortunate to bring home all my arrows in one piece at that shoot!

I broke my first (carbon) arrow at a TBoT event there. Lost about ĺ" on the front. I'll cut it down, add some weight and kill something with it.
Plan to be at Chester Friday and Saturday and have them with me. I'm sure I'll do my best to destroy or lose one (or three or . . .). But, if it's raining I won't take them out of the truck. And if it's raining hard, I'll be in the truck. Headed home. I don't mind wet as much as I hate mud.
