    Propane water heater question

I have a Marey propane water heater for my little cabin. I went out today to just check things out. Turned water on and it was spraying from inside water heater.
Took cover off and noticed one of the heater coils, I guess that what it is called has a split.
Is there a way to fix?

    It is at the top.

I am thinking not. To retube would probably cost the same as a new one.

I’m not sure. It’s copper on the line coming in, but then turns silver. Don’t know it’s it’s stainless or what.

You could try and braze it or something but it’s rotting from the inside out. Probably time for a new one. You have hard water out there? How old is that thing?

Only 2 years old. Doesn’t get used much as it is just a deer camp. I use water from my house and put in a tote that I use.

That’s very weird. Is there a warranty on it?

I need to call and see if it has warranty.

The adjacent piping left and right appear to have similar corrosion/dimpling forming similar to the immediate problem pipe.

Im curious if there is an overall electrolysis problem.
Do those things need to be grounded? Or grounded but a broken grounding. Ive noticed electric water heaters set directly on concrete or on metal stands directly on concrete… electrolyze, corrode and fail much sooner than those with some type of resistor break…like a rubber mat placed between the water heater and floor or metal stand.

JB Weld would be my go to for a short term solution to a long term problem.
