Hey fellas, thought I would share some of the build process that Randy Madden puts into his traditional bows. He’s working on a recurve at the moment so I will include milestone pics as/if he shares them during the build.

If you have not had the opportunity to see a Primal Tech up close, hopefully this post will provide a sense for the attention to detail, materials quality, and Randy’s world class craftsmanship (it’s really cool to know a guy with this level of mechanical skill).

Appreciated.

Thx Critter - i believe the riser block is spalted Myrtl. Looking forward to seeing if the figure pops a bit when Randy shapes it out..

My next build is coming up soon. It's true he is genuinely gifted in making bows that are works of art.
But his bows also have a functionality comparable to any out there and better than any other I've shot.
I'd be sure to work with him closely on grip style and fit.
But you will get a bow second to none in fit and finish, quiet and smooth, shoots hard and fast and one you'll be proud to carry to the club shoot or the deer stand.
And tell him to get you an extra Hunter's Choice Bowstring for it so you have a backup after you run 10,000 arrows through it between now and hunting season!

Hey DRT… Fully agree.

It’s one thing to build something that looks cool, but to build a dynamic tool that performs like a Primal Tech, well,.. that’s a different thing altogether…

By the way, your and Bisch’s PTs are some real beauties..

Agree. And the best shooting.
In fact Bisch was deadly as the plague with a pass around PT before he even got one for himself.

Randy builds awesome bows!! It was weird that he wanted a pic of me in my underwear, he said he needed it to gauge my overall dimensions for my bow. But whatever, it shoots good!!

That two weeks I had that pass around bow is what convinced me I had to have a PT of my own!!!

That is so I can measure your length of pull.
In your case I had to drastically shorten my design...

There ya go Randy!

Was wondering why Ryan’s bow looked so “odd”.

And I’m biased as well, and I don’t even own one! I shot Randy’s personal LB when we went to Colorado, and it felt/shot sweeter than any bow I’ve had the chance to shoot. I’ll have one someday, that’s for sure! Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

good morning fellas..

Randy has the riser block assembled with limb alignment pins and bolt inserts installed. Looks like he also has the “bloodtrail red” dyed buckeye burl and aoudad horn accents roughed out.. looking forward to seeing the handle shaped out from blocky chunk to serpentine riser..

That is something we plan on doing in the future if I ever get the new shop completed. I’ll have to hire someone to run it though because I can’t keep up with things as is. Lol

Epoxy that hasn’t been sanded off yet.
Everything is roughed out. Will do final shaping and sanding tomorrow and she’ll be ready for the spray booth!
