Well, in 5-hours of playing at the same table, I've never seen so many hands where quads win the hand. Eight times quads won. The very first hand of the tournament for my table was a guy wirh pocket kings and he flopped the two other kings

Then a guy had pocket 9s, hits one 9 on the flop and one on the turn, buy unlucky for him was the pocket Qs the other guy had and the two Qs on the flop.

And in the 5th hour of play for me, I have pocket aces and flop came AAK. Of course my only opponent shoves all in as he has pocket Ks, and wouldn't you know it, he must have renewed his fishing license as a K comes on the river.

I am now back home.....

Dang, $800?? That's pretty big money for a chance to win big and likelihood you will not. I don't have the nerves for that level of competition!!

I'm confused... why did the dealer even deal the river as your opponent was drawing dead after going all in.

No, I am the one that had the boat, but all cards in a tournament have to be dealt even if somebody is drawing dead.

Umm, how did you lose this hand. 4 Aces beats 4 Kings. At least the last time I played poker, it did.

How did you not knock out the Quad Kings? Did you verbally say that you had a boat?

I'm sure he will clarify. Doesn't make sense. No one messes up quad A's or makes that mistake.
The odds of quad A's over quad K's is stupid. Any quads over quads rarely happens.

We shall see soon hopefully..

Verbal doesn't matter. Cards speak in a tourney. He could have said he had three pair it doesn't matter. There are only a few hands that beat quad aces. But I'm as confused as the rest.

I'm totally lost. Down to a 2 man table. He draws 4 kings with an ace kicker. goes all in on the flop with 3 kings. You hit 4 aces with a king kicker on the flop. Anyone makes that call every time and flips the cards over. Game over. On to the next table.

What am I missing?

Usually the guy with KK and a AAK flop would not go all in right after the flop either.

$800 for a chance at over $100,000 and there is only 625 opponents, some of which don't know 4 aces is better than 4 kings?

Wish I knew about this sooner!!

In for the story! I hope you are still in it!!

Yall have confused me, or I've confused myself. In a nutshell, I had 3 aces and two kings, the other guy wound up having 4 kings, thus I lost.

So I went back and read my post, which I typed while stopped at a light, and I see where I messed up, hit A twice.

DFWPI double tapped the A while typing at the light while making his post. That made it look like the flop was AAK when in reality it was AK...SOMETHING of little impact on the hand.

His opponent hit the case K on the river which gave him quads over a boat. And yes my head hurts now trying to figure out how quad A's lost to quad K's.
