Movie - Quick and the Dead

Had this one on DVR for sometime and was watching it until the wife got home.

Will finish it in a few, but got me thinking.

What pistol would you have wanted in 1881?

One that I could get ammo for. I could be quite content with a old Colt single action arm, in either 44-40 or a 45 Long Colt. If I could go back to 1881, with a pistol and a life time supply of ammo, I would choose the same pistol I have now. EEA Witness in 10mm, it's a CZ 75 copy.

          Now, let me restate.

What pistol (six shooter) of that era would you want to carry?

          I'm thinking Colt Peacmaker.

The Sam Elliot movie by the same title is a much better movie.

Doesn't look like it. I haven't seen it in years.

Well being as the colt SAA 1873 known as the “peacemaker” was not around til 1873, and even then was only for military, I would go with a converted colt army revolver. Long, unbalanced, and heavy it would still do the job.

A Colt Walker and I'd hope it looked intimidating enough that I wouldn't have to use it.
