My son and I did a little fishing yesterday. Caught a few bass despite the high winds.

The hook has been set boys. Deeply I'm afraid. At least to the gills.

I definitely see myself owning a kayak before the month is out. Thanks for all the info.

mjw195 my best advice i can give dont get frustrate, the first 3 or 5 times i went out i was pist. i would cast my self in circles, felt unstable, and didn't catch crap. it takes a couple times out to figure it out, and get your "style", but once you do... HOLD ON!

This! I'm still getting comfortable fishing out of mine. My buddy will catch 8-10 me nada. I just enjoy being out there. Catching will come once your comfortable in the yak. It's def diff that what I'm used to.

x10000 thats what its all about, some times i just stop fishing, and just soak it up for 3 or 4 min. look around enjoy Gods creations. I think the anchor trolly system has improved my quality of fishing the most. i also fish streams so when drifting, ill cast left side right side left side... just to keep me balanced.

So far no complaints, plenty stable and can handle it by itself. Still have a Lot of learning to do though

Thanks for the encouragement, definitely a learning curve. When the winds got to 25 mph I tapped out. Hoping for a few calm days to get a better feel for it

Was thinking around San Luis Pass just to get as far from all the fresh water coming in as possible. Maybe some marsh fishing, Cold Pass area, etc.

However, the weather forecast has gotten progressively worse since the moment I determined to take a vacation day.

Always looking for someone to fish with I bought a Jackson Cuda a couple years ago and I've only used it a few time. Maybe we can hookup and wet a line some day.

Me and my dad had plans to try out stubble field north end of Conroe today, it was flooded. I've never seen it like that. We decided not to try it some serious current!

Sounds good, not a bite today, I figured they would be full after all of the rain washing the easy food in. I didn't do much casting either as I was trying to figure everything out. I had a blast, I will probably be going again soon, I may try an evening trip sometime this week.

Just got back from a great paddle on the Devil's from Baker's Crossing down to the SNA. Fished from an Ocean Kayak Predator Big Game II. Great fishing platform. I just ordered one and hope it's here soon because everything is running, running, running!
