1) That’s not at all what he said. Can you read?
2) He “passed” as in Jimbo passed on him.

Kid looks like a solid QB. Mack Brown is the man. Losing him set tu back a decade and helped TAMU in the process.

The kid passed on aTm.... can you read? aTm was all over this kid. You can say Jimbo backed off all u want, it doesn’t look good. Just like Aggies saying they really didn’t want the Oregon AD.

Mack brown had gone stale at Texas, just like Jimbo had at FSU. It was time for Mack to move on.

It’s not like he’s going to North Carolina State....there’s an actual contender. UNC is a basketball school. Might as well went it to Duke.

Hypothetically speaking if the ncaa starts to pay for likeness etc how do y’all think it will change the landscape? If at all? Seems like itll benefit larger schools more than smaller schools?

Horsnby is all Brewster (the next VY per Brew, while at Aggie)! Had Brewster stuck with Aggie, he'd be an Aggie.

Not only did Jimbo back off, Horsby was ready to commit and Jimbo said; not so fast my friend. This is why you saw the offer go out to a better option at QB (King).

It’s amazing what Mack can do for a program. I think I speak for all teams when I say we are glad tu ran him off. He could have been a dynasty like Sabin.

Oh yeah...seeing this all over Twitter from TexAgs threads copied and pasted.. Longhorn Frenzy is glorious

“Aggie backed off and are only pursuing one QB”. Great spin.

Dude, he’s widely known as a QB guru. Jimbo has put 9 QBs in the NFL, including three first rounders.

Jimbo is after whatever QB he can land. He has offers out to 10 QB's this cycle and only two are uncommitted to date. I'm not sure what makes the Longview kid better, they appear pretty equal on paper. Longview won the 6A Div II title which blew up the recruiting for King and Fort Bend Marshall got throttled by Aledo in the 5A Div II title game.

Must have been the game changer.

LSU - Booty, Davey, Matty Mauk, Jamarcus Russell - as QB coach / OC - all drafted but nothing special

FSU - Ponder, EJ Manuel, Winston - as HC - All 3 NFL QB's

He knows QB's. I'm not a big Fan of Mond but he took a big step in year 1 under Jimbo

2017 - 117 / 227 (51.5%) 1,375 yards 8 TD 6 INT
2018 - 238 / 415 (57.5%) 3,107 yards 24 TD 9 INT

I have no idea if the Aggies will land King but I will say that I most impressed with him in state championship game.
While I thought that Jimbo had lost his mind for starting Mond over Starkle, looks like he knew what he was doing.
Adios,

I would take King over Hornsby. Hornsby is a great athlete who may or may not develop into a QB. King just has too much arm talent imo.

From reading the interwebs, it would appear that Mack sold Hornsby the idea that he can be a VY-esque player in his system, which is a pretty fair assessment considering he is a really strong dual threat athlete that needs some work in in the passing department.

What is being reported is that when Demas committed, Hornsby told Hamm he was going to commit, but the Ag staff & Hornsby's "group" decided it was best to hold off on committing at that point (1 year ago). It seems like at that point they started slow playing him some looking around at other options to make sure they were good with taking Hornsby, and that's when Brewster made his move. Below are some stats between King and Hornsby in the athlete department....

King -

40 yard dash - 4.5 @ Nike Challenge
20 yard shuttle - 4.08 vs 4.51 for Hornsby at same event

In 16 games as a junior, King completed 184 of 266 passes (69.2 pct.) for 3,879 yards with 42 touchdowns and four interceptions while rushing for 664 yards and eight scores on 77 carries. He also had a 25-yard touchdown reception.

Hornsby -

40 yard dash - 4.74 (247 profile) - (I think he is faster than that)
20 yard shuttle - 4.51 at the same event as King

In 12 games as a junior, Hornsby completed 75 of 128 passes (58.6 pct.) for 1,969 yards with 23 touchdowns and two interceptions while rushing for 772 yards and 13 scores on 81 carries.

So the numbers say King is the better athlete, but an athlete doesn't make a football player, and both can play.

I'm guessing first couple of games suspension and mandatory "how not to be a dumbass" class and possibly community service.

If you're counting his time as OC / QB coach (when discussing 9 NFL QB's) then he has 2 NC.... now carry on

Lol you can spin it all you want.... you’re clearly infatuated with a team that has zero influence on yours... they all recruit against each other dip... I’d be more worried about LSU/bama stealing your recruits than Texas, but carry on with your pissing match banter against a team you don’t PLAY.

Well, I'd also point out the Deandre Francois had a really nice Freshmen year at FSU, his sophmore year he got hurt game 1 and missed the season... Fisher left FSU after his sophmore year.... his junior year at FSU he sucked and has now transferred.

We all know if LSU had landed Fisher 2 years ago you wouldn't be arguing this point

EJ Manuel wasn't a good QB, but he was under Fisher. Jamarcus Russell was good in college under Fisher, then went to NFL And sucked major ***....It's ok to say he's a good QB coach, he's been doing it for literally 29 years.

and no I don't think he's the greatest coach in CFB, but I think he's on the tier below Dabo / Saban / Meyer, and I know you did too not long ago Prior to 74-72

Did anyone notice how two weeks ago it was all about player development and who had the most drafted and how they performed at the next level yet now he is only a college coach and that's all that matters?

Man.......smh.
