Oak desk top with Singer sewing machine base

I built this oak top for my kitchen island but decided to go another route (I’ll discuss that in another thread). With COVID and a medically fragile kiddo, school is at home this year and one of them needed a desk to work at. I used this oak top and a Singer sewing machine base that was my wife’s grandmothers to make this desk.

Very nice. We have an old desk/singer that we need to redo.

I have been saving a sewing machine base, for the same kind of project. Yours looks great.

Thanks! It turned out better than I imagined it would.

Using Grandmother’s Singer sewing machine as a stand will automatically make your child learn better. Outstanding project, really like the color and good luck with the home schooling.
