Don't cheap-out on the ingredients. Buy the French's or Durkee's brand french fried onions and Green Giant or Libby's french cut FROZEN green beans.

I just had some Green Bean Casserole earlier, its really good! and really easy, basicly what everyone else was saying, all it is is soup, green beans, and the french onion things, and just throw it in the oven! We also added crushed bacon in with it and it added an extra flavor to it that makes it all the better! and it comes out to be a DELICIOUS side dish!

The bacon sounds good! What doesn't sound good with bacon?

Like most have said the reciepe on the onion can is a good, simple one. Its probably the one everyone is expecting. But if you want to take a little more trouble with it this is an excellent reciepe.
          1 lb frsh mushrooms, sliced.
          1 small minced onion
          1/2 cup butter
          1/4 cup flour
          3 cups scalded milk
3/4 pound diced sharp cheddar cheese
          2 teaspoons soy sauce
          1y teaspoon salt
          1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 cans (8 oz each) water chestnuts, drained and sliced thin
4 packages (10 0z each) french cut green beans, drained
1 can french fried onions, crumbled

Saute mushrooms and onion in butter. Blend in flour and gradually add milk. Cook and stir until thickened and smooth. Add cheese and stir until melted. Add vegetables, except fried onions. Turn into buttered casserole and top with onions. Bake at 375 for 20 min.

Here's the results. I went with Paula Dean's recipe from Food Network website. Pretty similar to the French's recipe but this one also uses fresh mushrooms and onions. Thanks for the help folks.
