    College Station Eats

Here with my bride and baby girl for a scholarship interview tomorrow…

Need some good grub that is unique to ATM.

Something a bit better than Dixie Chicken?

Porter's next to The George hotel on University and Texas. The bar at the George is a great spot for an after dinner cocktail.

There are a number of restaurants in old bryan that are very good. A goto of mine when I was in school was Casa Rodrigez. There was a german place there in old town bryan that was fantastic as well. Other good local spots are Koppe Bridge (burgers), J Cody (bbq), Christopher's (nicer) and Blue Baker (soups, sandwiches, pizzas). There are a ton of good places to grab a bite....do a little exploring!

Frittella was my favorite for Italian when I was in school.

Harvey Washbangers is still one of my favorite burgers. It was still open around Halloween of 21, I hope it hasn’t closed!

Porter’s is good. I liked the bourbon bar in the lobby of the George hotel better than the bar in Porter’s.

My all-time, hands down favorite restaurant and bar is the Republic Steakhouse. I’d put it up against any up-market, chef owned, big city steakhouse in Texas.
