Drop Away Question

Quick question from a beginner. Is my drop away rest suppose to come in contact with my bows shelf after it is activated and laying horizontal. Seems like maybe the last 10% of its travel it hits my shelf

I would think when laying horizontal there would be not touching of anything, seems like an extra "slap" against the riser that could cause premature failure or added noise when shot

It shouldn't slap the shelf. Its not only noisy, can cause rest bounce. You will need to raise the rest and more than likely need to adjust nock point.

As noted above, your rest launcher should not impact the riser. Most have an adjustment for the travel, sometimes you have to change the rest elevation and then limit the upward travel in coordination to get rest elevation where you want it, others have a down limit and up limit adjustment. Which rest is it?
