I’m leaning towards a Sharp-Shinned hawk based on leg size. Although it could be a juvi Coopers as tw5 mentioned

Sharp-shinned for sure. Cooper's are a little bigger, but size difference is good way to tell.
Was it smaller like a pigeon or bigger ?

Defenitly bigger and this one is a juvenile bird. Any chance it's some kind of a falcon?

I would agree with juvenile Cooper's then. Spouse knows his raptors and that's what he says.

Looks like a Cooper’s hawk. I got a few of them living on my place.

Thank you. The reason why I asked if it was a falcon is due to the gentleman who's trees these raptors nest in was told it was a falcon by a game warden.

I agree that it's a Coopers Hawk. They look similar to Sharp Shinned Hawks but Coopers are crow sized and Sharp Shinned are Blue Jay sized.

                              Not surprising.
