    Dad opening day at 89

My dad will be on a stand at my brothers place in Washington Co. tomorrow morning. This happens in his 89th year. Some may remember pics of him on my place in Madison Co. which we sold 10 yrs ago this past July.

A couple of pics of myself with my dad and brothers from today and a deer we ran on. My brother had never seen him until today.

        Out-freaking-standing!

My father’s almost 77 and has had a rough year, starting with a mild stroke last New Year’s Eve afternoon which lead to 4 heart surgeries earlier this year. Ended up with both carotid arteries cleaned out, a pacemaker and a triple bypass from issues found by the stroke.

He’s doing good as can be now but I’ll say this, it’s been years since I’ve seen him this amped for an opener. I’m basically here in case he needs a hand and also to guide my daughter, couldn’t be happier. Glad to sit back and let them have the fun.

        Best of luck to him!

That's absolutely outstanding, Bill! Best of luck to your dad, hope he tags a good one with that M99! My dad is also 89, but his hunting days are behind him now.

It is so awesome that your DAD is still able to do what he loves and his sons are still able to have him in their lives.. Enjoy every minute!!!

I lost my best friend and life time hunting partner(DAD)2.5 years ago at 79..

You sons just sit back and enjoy the opening day ride with dad an cherish every moment with lots of pics... Many of us, self included no longer have the opportunity to share a camp with our fathers. I would give everything to be able to have one more camp with dad!!! God Bless you all and have a great hunt!!!
