Default Dillon Blind Makeover

I got a beat up Dillon blind from a garage sale, for a good deal and decided to make it a project for my son and I.

Not much wrong with it besides all the windows and some holes that need patched.

I will post the progress.

Thinking about converting a couple of the windows into rifle windows not the vertical long expensive ones...

The smaller 12x10 deerview windows are a lot cheaper.
Plan on putting carpet, and building a shelf across the front.

My son and I finished taking all the old window frames and window brackets off.
The only good working window is a small one on the backside.

Maybe you did, but I would’ve put a bead of silicone around the entire wooden window cover and then bolted it in, and then silicone the seams as you did. Just a little extra adhesion and weather protection. Great project!

I think what he is trying to say is that with a $50 find....adding 75-$100 in deerview windows would be worth it and might save you some leaks/headaches down the road.....

But hey I'm a re-purposer for some things as well.

Priced deer view windows, for all the windows itís gonna be around 400$.
Gonna use what I got in my garage.
Weather stripping on the windows and door will come though for leaking issues.

I killed two birds with one stone.
Patched the big whole that was by the door, and will be my new door latch.

Going to patch the remaining small holes with silicone, then repaint the blind with my left over sherwin Williams paint that I used on my exterior for my house.

Deer view windows are worth it on that blind that would normally run 700 plus in used condition.
