Made it to the AirBnB in monte alto. Look that up if you need a place. Not a new place but nice enough, secure and water front. Also about 10 min from the refuge too.

Found some good looking spots if the weather gives us a break. Scouted and setup till 1 never saw a soul. Some will recognize my primary spot sine it looks like 2 days of rain
Already had one encounter with a big bull.

Hard to see but heís there.
Been talking with another TBHer and when I spotted this guy found out thatís the area heís headed towards. We elected to back out and concentrate on other areas. Maybe the hunting Gods will be pleased.
Weíll see what the rain and wind brings tomorrow
More to come

Got in the blind a little late this morning due to the high winds. Mistake number one. Buddies saw one walking too far to shoot when the wind dies at dawn. The other TBHr has 3 on the ground already. I got some catching up to do

If Iíd have listened to my gut when I got out this morning I would have been warm and dry all day. Didnít like the area my blind is in for the weather so I fawned rain gear and a chair. Rain gear saved me but everything else is soaked and itís just now a balmy 43*. I spooked 4 WT still hunting, my buddy saw about 7WT does throughout the day, other buddy nada. Things should change drastically tomorrow, they gotta be ready to eat and warm up. Stay tuned

Never bumped into anyone but the weather was hell for 2 days.
Looks like I leave with the pig. Today was an interesting day. Hunted an overgrown lane. Saw about 18 WT including 2 nice bucks, javelinas, coyote, turkey, and 4 nilgai non of which offered a decent shot. 3 were about 500 yds out.
Pretty neat place and Iíve Learned a lot in case Iím lucky enough to come back. Thanks for tagging along

Thanks for taking us along on your hunt, I enjoyed it.

I've from several hunters that there are an abundance of turkey there. Wonder if TPWD would ever have a turkey hunt?
