    People don’t think

Just saw a story about people who lost food in the refrigerator. Why not just put it in bags outside where it will not spoil? Garage etc. Dang some people just have no sense.

Those people exist in a very tiny box. Food goes in the refrigerators and freezers and you can’t take it out or it will spoil. Why? No reason, that’s just all they’ve ever done so they don’t have the brainpower to think outside of their little box.

I got home to the valley after being snowed in up in College Station and my power had been out for a day. But I had a truckbed full of snow to fill my coolers and I didn’t lose a single item from my fridge or freezer.

In my house all you had to do is open the fridge doors and leave them open and the food was fine since the dang house was 40 degrees!

Not sure how their food spoiled. We were without power 48 hours.

Opened the fridge the morning we had power and everything was still cold.

With the house averaging 50 to 40 degrees, the temp in the fridge should have been fine.

I keep seeing these people on the news freaking out and acting like it's the end of the world. I will never be able to understand why someone isn't self sufficient. I have never relied on anyone to save me in any situation. I don't understand that mentality.

Same thing happened to my nephew. He moved his deer meat from the freezer to the backyard, but didn’t empty the refrigerator, figured since his house was 30° his food would be ok. It wasn’t.

I totally agree 100%. It never ceases to amaze me that people aren't prepared to survive. It pays to plan, and have a back up plan. A family should be able to step back in time, and live like our ancestors.
