The Lord blessed my daughter and I with a wonderful hunt last Friday. I pulled the camera at a spot that I had not hunted since early in the bow season. There was a lot of activity on camera there in the evenings. After seeing some of the deer on camera, I knew we were going to give it a try. There was an old brush blind there, but the cedars had taken it over. I brought some hand clippers, a couple of triangular cheap hunting chairs, and an old TV tray for a rest. We quickly improvised the old brush blind deeper into the cedars. The wind was absolutely perfect for our setup. Within 5 minutes of me finishing cutting out her shooting lanes and getting our setup arranged, I see a great 10 point buck heading our direction. We had taken a couple of pictures with Tyler the Tractor and Hank the Helicopter, just messing around and cutting up. But, as soon as I let Wrigley know the bruiser was heading in, she was all business. She went ahead and took her crossbow off safety, waited for the perfect moment, then absolutely drilled a beautiful Burnet county buck. He went less than 40 yards and I got it on video. We took LDP's, skinned him, quartered him, and were on the way home before 6pm. Wrigley is an awesome little huntress, who will be moving to a wheel bow this coming year. I am so very proud of her and am very thankful for the special moments I get to spend with her in the woods.
