Does anyone know where to find the secondary market value of bourbon? I'm curious what some of the more difficult to find varieties are going for.

I bought a bottle Elijah Craig small batch this weekend. It was a store pick... but I would put it toe to toe with blantons and Weller 12.

I like it when that happens.:-) Well done. I picked up a couple of bottles of a Rouse's store pick of the same, just tasted perfect to me.

Exactly. I shake my head every time I see somebody post one on secondary. I tried it at a bar and thought that it was good, but not outstanding and certainly not worth what it goes for on secondary.

For the price it better be tasty . Iíve passed their stuff before because of the price so I canít exactly say why I went all in on this one. Iíve become a big full proof fan so I guess this is a good introduction to GB.

I too prefer the higher proof and smokiness of the 1920, but I find the 1910 to be a pretty easy drinker, but definitely a different flavor profile from the 1920.

Garrison Brothers Single Barrels are usually pretty good. Especially if picked by Donnis. Let that barrel proof breath a bit and the flavors will blossom.

FYI... 2019 Small Batch is pretty good.

Good to hear and thanks for the feedback... because I bought two of the 28. It all started when I walked up and an employee was mopping up a mess that smelled really good. He said it was a $150 bottle gone to waste. Only 28 bottles, now 27. The others were in a shopping cart with other GB bottles.

I’ve been enjoying Willet rye all weekend so maybe I’ll crack it next weekend.

Picked up some Edradour 16yr single barrel this weekend and man was it delicious.
It's finished in Bordeaux casks for 46 months and is complex with an amazing flavor profile that has a wide range. I got ripe fruit, raisins, toffee, black pepper, oak, and butterscotch.

So is $120 bucks a good price for Blantons? I just bought a bottle for that. Didn’t think to ask before they rang it up. I was thinking $80 tops.

Southern Comfort. Not made in Texas, but think it originated fairly close by - New Orleans.

Agreed. I've had a couple bottles in the last few years that were not good, don't know what the deal is there . Recent demand has pushed the price too high imho.

Iím a newb to the Bourbon scene. Iíve been reading this thread for a bit and decided to pick up this bottle today. I looked for Weller 12 and Blantons, but they didnít have any (Iím in Oklahoma). I did see many others that have been mentioned in this thread. The EH Taylor, Elija Craig small batch, Angels Envy, some green label Weller, Basil Hayden....etc. This bottle of EH Taylor was $47.** plus tax. I have no idea if thatís a decent price? The Elija Craig Small batch (750ml) was $29. Iíll open this bottle up and see how it goes.

That's a good pick. Most of the guys here like higher proof stuff, so be ready for some kick before the flavor
