    How Much Meat?

How much meat on a typical red stag boned out? Have a hunt for one in my future and to help my impatience I sit around planning.

I'm going to guess probably around 100lbs

Red stag bull or cow. Bulls probably weight 600 and cows 200.

Wow, that's boned out? I didn't realize there would be that much difference in the sexes.

If I'm lucky, I'll be able to harvest both a stag and a hind.

I shot an elk that weighed around 450 this year and got 160 lbs of meat off him (boned out). I’d guess most red stag would be around that size.

Our red stag bulls are 340 to 380 on the hoof. Hinds are naturally smaller but still plenty big.

Boned out two hinds today. Didn't have a scale, but it felt like 2-3x what we'd get out of a white tail doe.

600 lb Stags? Where are these at?

The Stag I killed was about 375 or so. They range from 300-500 lbs. Hinds are probably 180-250

I’d guess I got about 100 lbs of meat out of my Stag.

Figure about 1/3 of the live weight.
