Wasn’t a huge deal, 2 year for 21 million. I’m pretty sure I could have got on board with the stros dishing that out for his services. His game 2 tieing homerun in the 9th was possibly the biggest reason we won the series. Going to miss him for sure.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see someone get an extension before season, most likely a pitcher. Crane mentioned they are working and hope to have a few deals done by opening day.

Mostly being linked to Atlanta and possibly Minnesota. But who the heck knows with the way free agency has played out this year. I wouldnt mind seeing him back in an Astros uni if he comes at a reasonable price. The starting rotation would be upgraded if he found his way back to Houston.

Nothing new. I read in one report that if we don’t sign both Verlander or Cole to extensions they could give in and offer a little more to key gel or if the market stays soft on keuchel he could return on super team friendly deal. I think extending Cole and/or verlamder are more priorities with Dallas being a back up if everything else falls apart.

Caught the “home” game today. Was really impressed with Martin. Very good control. Threw his fastball and breaking ball where he wanted to. Also flashed a really good change up. His only blemish came on a change up he hung up in the zone. I can tell he’s going to get control of that change up, and when he does, he’ll be a good to very good starter at MLB level.

Addition of Michael Brantley and the extension with Kemp, this outfield is crowded.

Tucker or Reddick? Bad & sick feeling it's going to be Reddick that's traded since Tucker was so bad during reg season last year. Reddick has the most trade value of the 2.

When did Kemp get an extension?

Tucker has way more trade value than Reddick, but they won't trade Tucker. They would trade Reddick for a bag of balls if someone would take back his contract.

It is hard to imagine him not being on the staff by the end of June. How they handle his innings this year will be interesting. I think if he had worked a full season last year, he would be on the staff by the end of April, but I doubt they want to run him out for 180 innings in the bigs this year.

The goal has to be to have him healthy, acclimated to the rotation, and not worn out going into the playoffs.

It helps that he has good mechanics and isn't a max effort guy. He can probably throw more innings than the typical prospect of his age and experience.

RHP Josh James suffered a right quad strain and is no longer a candidate for the starting rotation. He played catch today and Astros are hopeful he’ll pitch in enough games to be in the bullpen on Opening Day.

Valdez. Two lefthanders in rotation would be nice and he did really well last year. Peacock is so valuable in pen also
