Got another ewe lamb to add to the herd at Powell/Holman sale in Hamilton last weekend. I need to take better pics in the sun. Just a trailer pic.

Fun seeing all the great animals and projects with kids.

The kids and I just started with full blood dorpers to raise some show lambs for them to go along with our commercial sheep.

We started a Facebook page Cuatro H Dorpers if anyone would like to follow along. Iím trying to get more pics loaded on there later this week.

Good luck this year everyone.

Here are a couple we clipped off and we haven't even started on the good pen. It would definitely be worth your time to come look. I will be driving to south Texas through SA on the 29th if I need to deliver.

Our first outing is this coming weekend, prospect show in Burnet. We have high hopes this season. Lightweight shorthorn (Sared Ground) and a medium brangus (Lots of Leather). It's been our toughest year so far breaking these suckers. Lots of bumps, bruises, and rope burns. They get haircuts and pedicures today.

We've had two calves in the barn since March. American (first time for us) and a black exotic. We're having a ball so far!

Daddy/Daughter livestock show day in Burnet. Nathan opted to play golf instead. His loss. Millie killed it! Second place with her Brangus (Boaz) and then YATZEE showing Nathan's shorthorn (Cain). British breed champion and then reserve grand champion of the whole show. Two buckles, a steer cut-out, $80, smiles and oodles of confidence moving forward.

Not counting the mini herefords, Cain was the second lightest calf in the show at 575. He beat out several 1,000+lb exotics and other brits. We've got something special. Can't wait until Jan/Feb!

We are thinking about getting a trailer to haul our lambs. I’m considering Aluminum with removable pen system (4-6), tack room, AC with insulated roof, rubber flooring and a ramp For loading.
Am I missing any needs be?.

--thanks

My buddy had a pan built in his show trailer that had a pipe going to the outside to dump water buckets out or rinse drench guns in. Could also be used as a urinal if needed as well.

Spend the money and get you a good quiet generator to run the ac and lights in the lamb compartment and the tack room. Make sure to have a generator light installed on the fender so you can see it in rear view mirror to know that the generator is still running going down the road. Nothing worse than the generator shutting off going down the road and the ac stopping in the summer time

Thanks for the reply, all of that sounds like great info. I know what you mean about the generator cutting off. We had an issue this year with my buddies while we were heading back from Brownwood. Luckily we were able to catch it in time. He told me horror stories after that about people losing their live stock in trailer from the generator quitting.
The pan with a pipe sounds like a pretty good idea, Iíll have to see about possibly setting something like that up.
I know the generator inverters are much quieter and that the Honda is a great choice. Has anyone had any experience with the Champion brand? We have use a few of them on the job and they did ok but they were not an inverter. Found one that has a remote to start, may let me know if itís running? And has a 3 year warranty may check into it because itís half the price of the Honda?

I love that show. It was a toss up between that and dove opener, South zone. Not a hard choice. We'll be hunting.
