Hogs at my place in RS will devour alfalfa in a new york minute. Deer and exotics not so much....

We have had one guy feeding cotton seed and it took the deer awhile to start eating it. I threw out one bag in my pen last season and the deer ate it off the ground. I may feed some starting in Feb of next year. I hunt in the same county you do. I sometimes hunt your blinds also. Mike showed me your place......just kidding.

Nothing touched alfalfa for us. Tried it for a whole year. Took them for ever to eat the corn put on it. We were using feeder and piles. Gave up. I will add our food supply is extremely healthy planted, supplemental and natural browse

Pigs never ate it in west texas but my does would fight over it

Not meant to hijack the title, but we put alfalfa out at our hill country place. Deer jumped on the first night. Had a few axis on it the next day. Whitetails get after it.

Pigs didn’t take to it as quick as the deer did, but yes they will definitely eat it. I just started feeding it last year in about October. Our deer love it though.
