A beautiful sunset on the evening of a dove hunting trip drinking a cold beer with friends.
              Hells Gate on PK.
Setting on the bank of middle fork of the brazos river watching the sun rise waiting on a big ole Aspermont County buck.

Funny that I was talking with my son who moved to Tennessee after college, has since then married a beautiful Memphis girl, and now have a beautiful baby girl. i asked about what he thought of when he thought of Texas. Without skipping a beat he said, "Josh Abbott says it all when he sings "My Texas".

                        My forefathers and relatives,
                        The battle of the Alamo,
General Sam Houston confronting Santa Anna under the tree,
Cattle drives up the Chisholm trails,
The Trinity and Brazos Rivers (mainly, and a few more),
                        The Panhandle Flat Plains,
                        The Gulf of Mexico,
The SW Texas desert lands and the Davis Mountains,
The greenwood forest of East Texas,
                        The Texas ladies,
                        The Texas BBQ,
Various small towns with history and attractions,
Ft Worth "Where the West begins" (and where I was born),
Texas Law and how it evolved,

The lives given for this land to ensure our Freedom!,
And Texas, blessed by God Himself.

I've spent all but 3.5 years of my life here. "Marriage", will make a man do funny things sometimes.

I think of patriots that have the “Alamo” spirit. That love our country and Texas. And will never give up on American freedom
                          and supporting the constitution.

Cowboys and freedom. Wide open spaces. Folks that would give you the shirt off their back. Sweet tea.

I agree with everything above. To add my 1 1/2 cents, there is something about a big freshly mowed coastal field with giant 200 year old live oaks scattered across it that says Texas to me. Something about that view is just esthetically pleasing.
