I contacted Browning and was told that the lenses were on backorder. Contacted them again around the end of August and was told again that 2 of the PIR lenses for 2 different model cameras they were still waiting on to come in. 4 of the camera models I have (all the same model) I was told they would not be getting any replacement PIR lenses due to the age of the cameras.

These cameras were in perfect working condition when the wood peckers did there thing on the PIR lense.

If this is the case, I am done with Browning. They list 25 different PIR lenses on their website with only 14 of them in stock, maybe!

Other camera mfgs may be the same but when you have a couple hundred bucks tied up in cameras and all of a sudden they are not going to sell you parts or fix them, in my book, not good.

Now, suggestions on what brand to go with that will not break the bank due to the possibility of woodpeckers hammering them again!

        Rant over.
These post make me laugh, blame the manufacture for something out of their control, especially with the parts availability issues all over right now. I don't understand why this is Brownings fault honestly, you even stated that they worked flawlessly up until this. If they can't supply the parts that you need because of the age of the camera, maybe it's time to upgrade.

Can't promise the T-Shade (aka "Peck'r Wreck'r") will save your lenses but many of my customers swear by it. Also shading the cameras will certainly help with sun damage and increase battery life because heat degrades batteries too.

Just take them to academy and return or exchange them. Works every time.

Just maybe they should not have 25 different PIR lenses for 25 different cameras that are listed on the PIR lense page!

AND, why should I have to upgrade? They worked, now they do not and maybe they need to have these parts made in the USA and not overseas!

I realize that the lenses being destroyed is out of their control, but stocking parts is not!

I'm right with you and understand your pain. I have been trying to get new PIR lenses for a year! I don't understand the difference between the cameras, thinking of ordering one they have and trying to make it fit.

I was a Browning and Bushnell fan up to last year . I have had several not work within a month or two after buying them, one of them did not work out of the box. I have one Browning that is two years old and still works even though the display does not come on. I cannot set the time/date or format an SD card . I bought a couple of the Tascos for $28 at walmart and they are finishing up their 2'nd year and have worked flawlessly. I bought 3 more Tascos recently and they have been out since the summer and work perfectly.

All of mine are on T Post but the sun still dries them and causes them to crack.

ALL mine on on T Posts and facing NORTH, so the sun should not big a huge problem in my opinion. Some are actually in the shade of trees so that should eliminate the cracking due to sun.

I just do not see corn putting holes thru the PIR lense as some are well past the corn throw on my feeders, especially with 2 6 volts battery feeders I have. that theory is blown out of the water. I have personally seen the wood peckers land on these cameras and start pecking at the PIR lenses!

I had one get damaged and I bought Fresnel lens material from Snapshotsniper.com....cut it to fit. pretty easy fix IMO

My camera works great now, possibly better than it did with the stock pir lens.

Hard to get upset at a company when an animal damaged the product. International shipping etc is a mess right now. Lots of other sources for the lens material out there.

Did you purchase the long range Fresnel lens or the wide angle material?

He told me he bought the .9 focal lens. I sent them an email and they sent me back a pic of the lens and what needs to be centered for best pic. Shoot me your email via PM and I will send you what they sent me if you want.
