Brownwood Area Eats?

Will be spending a few days in the Brownwood area next month. Never been to that area. Any good local restaurants to go to? Barbecue, steaks, Mexican it really doesn’t matter. Also which ones to stay away from!

Humphrey Pete’s is pretty good. La Botana for Mexican, Section Hand Steak house, Underwoods

I’ll second La Botana and SectionHand Steakhouse. I haven’t tried Humphrey Petes or Underwoods but I’ve heard both are good.

Humphrey pete's is excellent grub.

I have always wondered the same about underwoods. I never have liked it. Similar to a Furrs cafeteria and same quality of food. Poor cafeteria food.

Humphrey Pete’s was our go to spot. It’s been 4 or 5 years but they had $1 keystone draft! Didn’t matter what the food tasted like!

Diamond R in Zephyr is good

Underwoods-whatever that square piece of meat they serve is and rolls. I don’t know the name of the place we ate in Zephyr is (General Store maybe). But they make one fine hamburger.
