Default Seprate Classified section for actual bowhunting stuff

So I occasionally visit the group and browse around and am in the process for looking for new stuff for bowhunting and thought I'd check the classifieds. Been a while. I found basically everything except anything for bows or bowhunting. Truck parts, ammo, fishing gear, boats, guns...but very little if any bows, sights, rests, arrows, quivers, stands, climbers...you know, bowhunting stuff. I know I could search for specific items but sometimes browsing works better because I never know what I may want to spend my stimulus money on. lol

This. And keep in mind, archery equipment varies depending on the time of year. Right now there isn't much used stuff available. In late summer through January - February there is a lot more.

From your profile picture, just type in “crossbow” and see what pops. :-). Just cruise through as you never know what you “need”.

You could spend it to purchase the www.bowonlyclassifieds.com domain. Problem solved.

You must be considering getting into bow hunting and getting rid of all those crossbows. Congrats!

Nothing makes MODS happier than telling them what they need to do on this site. I’m sure the bowhunting classified section will be up by the end of the day.

In my opinion bow hunters are very picky about their gear, they spend a lot of money on it, and once they buy it they keep it for a long time. Thus... not a lot for sale.

I believe the new, cool jargon to use is "vertical bow" and "horizontal bow".

If we are adding a section to the classified, can we add a section for price gouging?

Agree with this 100%. That is why I like it. I may be looking for something specific one day and the next I might just be shopping for good deals. Keep it general!

I'm trying to figure out what the OP said that made some of you jump him? Some disappointing posts here from long-term members.

You can discuss this without taking jabs at him.

With that said, we're not a fan of further dissecting the forum in general.

I'm pretty sure he didn't ask for all the ******** comments! That's what this site has turned in to. Didn't your momma teach you that if you have nothing good to say, then keep your mouth shut? I've been on the site along time and I think his idea was pretty good. You can't peruse the site without seeing 50 ammo posts that are severely over priced and gouging like heck. As usual thou, they whole gang showed up to jump all over the newbie! Great site guys, great comradery! Way to show your maturity to the sport. Let the flaming begin. . .

Totally agree. Lot of disappointing posts

OP Lots of times things posted are seasonal like stated above so if you are looking for something in particular the search works well. Sometimes Iíll even type in a particular brand if something Iím looking for. A lot of times you can find great deals on general things which makes the variety nice

This, kinda took a turn didn't it.

As for the classifieds, there's bows and such in there but truth is there's just not enough archery related stuff to have it's own section. There'd be a couple posts here and there but just not enough activity.

I've been here for 9 years. It really hasn't changed a ton from what I've experienced. 99% great people with a large streak of smart@ss and 1% total azzhats. There are people I thought I wouldn't like from interfacing on here and am now good friends with some of them. Just my experience. Most of the time the "sure has changed" crowd is butthurt about something. Overall, best site on the net in my opinion. JMO. I like turtles.

They key to it is to use the right spot to find what you want.
This site is the best all around site I've seen. The classifieds are great and I've gotten several excellent deals from some very nice people.
However when I start looking for a bow or related equipment I go to archery talk. The classifieds are separated and easy to filter through.

And the tacky responses on here don't surprise me. But I always take them with a grain of salt. Thin skin won't get you too far in life.

I've been bowhunting strictly the last couple years. Made a bad shot on a doe 7 years ago and put the bow away for a while. Now I'm confident again so back to the bow. I keep an Excal Matrix 355 around though for my boy. He can't pull enough bow yet to kill anything so he gets a pass. He's only 6 but got his first button buck with it last fall and just dropped a gobbler saturday morning with it so it'll be hanging around for a little while longer I think.
