Oh yes....there are always a few cold libations available at Trinity Acres

We took the grandkids fishing today. We caught a few and my granddaughter landed (with a little help) one of the albino cats we stocked awhile back. Thanks Jeff Scott (Fishndude).

Letís just say I am so glad we decided to not go Cost Plus like so many people suggested. Weíve been under a Hard Cost contract with our builder since July. He showed me his invoice on just the lumber package and heís taking it on the chin trust me. His cost was more than 35% higher than when he bid it. Lumber and windows are stupid crazy right now. Suffice to say heís not going to make near the margins he was!

Dried in with exception of the windows that are on back order. Builder ordered them the 2nd week of November and vendor said they arenít even in production yet.
Oh well. Plumbing rough, AC rough and propane rough (including hot water heater) completed. Electric rough-in next on the list.

Progress boys...progress. It was a flat out gorgeous evening out here this afternoon. You can smell the rain coming though.

Well....suffice to say things slowed down to almost A COMPLETE HAULT for much of the time since my last update. If itís not COVID related delays with getting materials itís the weather. Not much could be done inside because we couldnít get dried in while waiting on the windows that have been on order since November!!!

Snow, sleet, ice and the BooKoo rains had us wallowing in a muddy mess out here. The windows finally made it and have been installed....so we are back up and running hopefully.

Today was spray foam day at Trinity Acres. I shot a little video.
https://youtu.be/HEiRuLSMUFE

Sheetrock, tape, bed an texture is next on the list.

Front entry doors were installed a few days ago and the brick and stone masons have started as well. Props to my buddy Julio (NotJose) for coming out here bright and early yesterday morning and lending me a hand. His knowledge in the brick masonry construction industry helped me get the brick foreman guy lined out. I knew what I wanted but didnít have the technical vocabulary and terminology to know what to ask for.
Thanks again Julio....you are top notch in my book brother.

Itís been awhile since my last update. The darn masons may NEVER get finished but they ARE doing a good job. And heck.....the latter is all that really matters I guess.
Sheetrock hung and tape, bed and texture starts tomorrow.
Another gorgeous evening out here this afternoon....smelling the rain in the air though.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Itís coming along slowly but surely. Momma is a little frustrated with the tight living quarters and is getting antsy to get moved into the big house. Iím just trying to stay focused on getting things done correctly and not stressing over the timeframe.

Thanks David, I personally would highly recommend closed cell spray foam...at least in the ceiling-roof line. Iím no expert but according to my builder, it supposedly takes at least 1.5Ē closed cell to act as a true moisture/vapor barrier.
We went with 2Ē closed cell in the roof and 1Ē on the walls in our shop. R value and temperature benefits are one thing but you wonít believe how much more structural support it will give the building as well. It really tightens things up. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Just saw this post Bobby. Here is a little update on the back patio area. The fireplace is complete with the exception of the hearth which will be a combination of stone and brick as well. I will also install a barnwood type mantel over the 2 roll lock brick courses above the firebox.

They will be starting the outdoor kitchen soon where we will have a grille and sink enclosures as well as plenty of counter space and storage. I’ll try to post a pic as things progress.

We also have officially become first year Purple Martin landlords here at Trinity Acres. They’ve found my house and gourds and evidently approve of what they see. Pretty stoked about this....they are some really cool birds for sure.

Very nice Joel! I had a great evening yesterday evening sitting out under the gazebo as all the Martins were making their last circles before roosting for the night... There must have been 20 or more... The sad thing is my hearing has gotten so bad, I could just barely hear them... One of my favorite birds... They just all seem to be happy as can be with their sweeping flight and singing...

A little more progress as the cabinets were installed today. Ran out of brick so the masons are on hold for at least a week to 10 days. Doors, baseboards and window trim work starts tomorrow.

Slowly but surely getting a little closer.

And yet another gorgeous evening out here last night.
