We had an okay trip. Four of us went for a 3 day hunt. When we arrived, most of the 17” of snow they got was still on the ground. Wasn’t much movement the first day or so. Spotted a few deer, all doe. Two guys took deer, another was shot and tracked for about a mile without a recovery. If is hadn’t been for the snow, I don’t think I would have been able to follow that little of a blood trail as far as I did. Another person (unfortunately me) shot and missed. I did hit a really nice pine tree though. Seems I always preach to the new guys to bend at the waist when shooting from an elevated position but forgot to take my own advice. Too excited I guess. We generally see deer on our trips, but usually not more than one shot opportunity in those 3days.
