We have been fishing the areas of POC my entire life since my parents were both raised in Calhoun County.
We have been weekend POC residents for going on 7 years and currently about to break ground on a new Barndo.
We are so thankful to the good Lord for being able to raise our two boys on the coast as my parents and myself were.
We sometimes forget to stop and really appreciate this opportunity. Yesterday was a perfect reminder for me.
A normal POC weekend became an awesome day of “adventure”.
We began our day out at the Pass Cavallo area beach for beach combing, sand castle building, cast net lessons, and some turkey sandwich lunches.
On the way in, after catching a few mullet during cast net lessons, we anchored on a flat to see if we could hook a couple redfish for the boys.
Low and behold we lucked out.
In a hour, we have five solid slot reds on the few baits we had.
Ended our day with a great meal at 5D Steakhouse while the boys ran out the rest of their energy.
A blessed great day on the Texas hot summer coast.
